About
Originally from Texas, Emily Reas (she/her) is a jill-of-all-trades Independent Producer. Originally getting into the business as a child actor, Emily started moving behind the camera in her late teens/early 20’s. Thriving in the trenches on set, she’s worked in several BTL departments including AD, G/E, Camera, Production Design, and, of course, good ’ol PA. Emily’s diverse production background not only makes her the type of Producer that isn’t afraid to wear multiple hats, but truly understands and values the crew. Having an acting background as well (and a BFA in Acting from Texas State University), she understands how to speak to actors, whether creatively or from a business stand point.
She is the Production and Operations Manager for John D’Aquino’s Actor’s Workshop, was a member of Women in Film, was WIF mentee in their Peer Mentoring Program (2020), was a second-rounder in Sundance’s Producing Lab & Fellowship (2024), is a Film Independent Member, and co-founder of the production company Blind Salamander Films. She loves cheese, but is lactose intolerant… she likes to live on the edge.
